Monaco star, Cesc Fabregas, has said he is shocked at Chelsea’s recent poor form.
He, however, backed his former club to eventually come good.
Recall that the Spaniard left the London side for AS Monaco in the January transfer window following five successful years at the club, winning the Premier League twice along with one FA Cup triumph.
However, since his departure Maurizio Sarri’s men have endured a difficult few weeks, suffering embarrassing defeats to both Bournemouth and Manchester City.
Speculation continues to surround Sarri’s future while questions are also being asked of the squad, but Fabregas insists the players are capable of still winning a trophy this season.
Fabregas told CNN Sport. “These things happen. It’s a shame really because it’s difficult to experience 4-0 defeats, 6-0 defeats.
“It does [surprise me] because I never experienced that at Chelsea in my five years. This is a good team, though, and I believe in them.
“I’m sure they can still win titles this year. 100 percent I believe that, so they just need to put things together because now is the right time to do it. Nothing is lost.
“They can still fight for many things and have to make sure that they don’t regret it at the end.”
