The Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organization (PPCO) said it has uncovered plots by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to frame the PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and heap allegations of gun running on him.

The PPCO said intelligence available to it showed that agents of the APC had already perfected plots to brand some vehicle with Atiku Abubakar campaign colours, laden them with arms and ammunition and take them to Atiku Abubakar’s home in Abuja and Adamawa, where conniving security agents will pounce on them “to embarrass our candidate on trumped up charges of gun running.”

The party’s spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan said this in a statement in Abuja.

Ologbindiyan said, “The PPCO condemns the plot in totality and urge Nigerians to note that APC has become frenetic and increasingly vicious in its desperation to smear our candidate ahead of the 2019 Presidential election.

“We therefore call on all Nigerians to be at alert and continue to be wary of the malicious activities of the APC and the Buhari Presidency, who, in the despondency of their imminent and inevitable defeat at the Presidential poll, have sold their souls to mischief.

“The PPCO says Nigerians now know who to hold responsible should any harm befall Atiku Abubakar, who they have attained a consensus to vote in, as the next President of our country, come February, 2019”.
