four armed robbers who focus on robbing church buildings in and round Awa-Ijebu in Ogun State, have been busted and arrested by the police.

The lads have been recognized as Akinniyi Moses aka (conjour), 43; Ogunfowoke Kayode, 23yrs; Michael Idogun, aka (headboy), 35yrs and Izunna Onah, 29.

Their arrests, in line with the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, was sequel to collection of complaints from completely different church buildings that they had attacked at completely different instances, the newest of which was Methodist Church, Oru-Ijebu and Love of Epistles Church, In the past-Iwoye.

Oyeyemi, in a press launch said that the syndicate didn’t restrict their operations to church buildings, saying in addition they attacked residents, citing a constructing at Ajebo in Oru-Ijebu as one of many locations they attacked just lately.

“Frightened by the sacrilegious acts, the State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, on receiving the distasteful report, mandated the DPO Awa-ijebu Division, SP Olu Monday, to go after the hoodlums and produce them to justice inside the shortest potential time.

And in compliance with the CP’s directive, Olu Monday detailed his detectives to embark on intelligence-based investigation with a view to unravel these behind the sacrilegious act. Their efforts paid off when, on a tip-off, the 4 suspects have been apprehended on December 30, 2018”.

The police picture maker said that in the midst of interrogating the suspects, all owned as much as committing the sacrilegious acts on church buildings within the space, and particularly talked about Methodist Church, Oru-Ijebu and Love of Epistles Church In the past-Iwoye as their newest victims.

A few of the objects recovered from them, in line with Oyeyemi, have been a double-barrel domestically fabricated pistol; 17.62mm dwell ammunition; 5 DBSG dwell cartridges; Six handsets and three Ox followers.

Others have been one massive speaker; two id playing cards of Vigilante Service of Ogun State (VSO); a Plasma TV; two gasoline cylinders; a bullet proof vest; 5 stabilizers; a Church bell; a pistol purse and a jack knife.

In the meantime, Oyeyemi hinted that each one the stolen objects have been recognized by their respective homeowners, including that CP Ahmed Iliyasu had ordered that the suspects be transferred to the Federal Particular Anti-Theft Squard (FSARS), Abeokuta, for discreet investigation.

He quoted the CP to have warned that the Command wouldn’t relaxation on its oars in its efforts to make Ogun State crime free.
