ABIA POLY LECTURES EMBARK ON PROTEST OVER UNPAID SALARIES.

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, Abia Poly Branch has embarked on a Protest over the non-payment of their eight months salaries.

The Protest led by the chairman Precious Nwakodo caused gridlock on the very busy Aba-Owerri Road in the city of Aba and also disrupted academic and administrative work at the institution.

The main gate leading to the school was blocked and these inscriptions “ we are not slaves” “we deserve our eight months salaries”, “You must pay us our eight months salaries”, “this is sheer wickedness and injustice” No Money”, but you have N2M to go to Abuja. Were hung on the gate.

The Chairman while address the press said that they are here to show their displeasure to the inhuman attitude of the school management towards them. He said several of their colleagues are dead due hardship occassioned by their outstanding salaries and many are in hospitals and many children and wards of staff have been withdrawn from school due their inability to pay their fees. SMS sent to the PRO of the school were unanswered.
