More than a year after the passing of Prof. Dora Nkem Akunyili (OFR), the former Director General of National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control of Nigeria and Nigerian Minister of Information and Communications from 2008 to 2010, hundreds of people gathered at Nike Lake Hotel, Enugu to honor her memory at a memorial lecture over the weekend.
The keynote speaker, Mr. Peter Obi, knew Prof. Dora Akunyili personally and has fond memories of the late Icon of Excellence.
