[dropcap type=”1″]V[/dropcap]iacom International Media Networks (VIMN) Africa recently had journalists from all over the continent battle each other at their Viacombat night.
The event held at the Multichoice Content Showcaseextravaganza in Mauritius on Wednesday, 2 Septemberwas hosted by comedian Basketmouth and MTV VJ, Nomuzi Mabena.
The media practitioners were entertained and engaged with games influenced from the programming from VIMN channels including MTV Base, Nickelodeon, MTV, BET and Comedy Central.
The journalists and bloggers were placed into teams and played for the opportunity to win a mini MAMA statue and the chance to pour Nickelodeon green slime over a guest of their choice.
The games played included the Nickelodeon Genius Impossible Quiz, ‘Guess The Tight End’ with BET’s The Wendy Williams Show, MTV Base’s Break The Beat Down, MTV Ridiculousness Epic or Fail and Comedy Central South Park Celeb and Lip Sync Battle.
The Lip Sync Battle saw MultiChoice Africa CEO Tim Jacobsand the General Manager of Corporate Affairs, Caroline Creasysyncing to Taylor Swift’s ‘Shake It Off’.
Nickelodeon Marketing Manager Lindi Davids expressed her happiness at the success of the night.

“Viacom will be premiering loads of fresh new content across all our channels on the DStv and GOtv platforms in the coming months and we can’t wait for Africa to see it”, she added.

The night also showcased IK Osakioduwa getting pranked on a new MTV Base show called “You Got Got”. The end of the night saw Basketmouth getting slimmed with Nickelodeon’s green goo.
