In Iran, chaotic scenes were reported today after a sports complex in an unspecified area was struck by an explosion, sending members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) rushing from the area as emergency sirens sounded and smoke rose over the facility.

Eyewitness videos circulating on social media show uniformed personnel running from the damaged sports complex while first responders attempt to secure the site. The extent of casualties or structural damage has not yet been officially confirmed.

At the same time, Iranian officials and analysts say a new problem is emerging online. Posts from civilians in the surrounding area have been widely shared on social media platforms, with some users uploading videos and geotagged images that appear to reveal locations of military activity.

Security experts warn that publicly sharing real-time locations during a conflict can create serious risks, because such information can potentially be analyzed by foreign intelligence services or hostile actors. The tensions come amid the ongoing confrontation between Iran, Israel, and the United States, where digital information and open-source intelligence have increasingly played a role in modern warfare.

Iranian authorities have urged citizens to avoid posting sensitive images or location details from security incidents, saying such material could endanger both civilians and responders working in the area.

Investigations into the cause of the blast at the sports complex are ongoing, and officials say more information will be released once the site is secured.
