The Department of State Services, (DSS) has arrested the suspended Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele.
Naijtimes news reported earlier that
Emefiele was suspended on Friday by Bola Tinubu.
Tinubu also appointed deputy governor, Mr Folashodun Adebisi Shonubi as the acting Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, in replacement for Emefiele.
Announcing Emefiele’s suspension, Willie Bassey, Director of information in SGF office said his suspension was “sequel to the ongoing investigation of his office and the planned reforms in the financial sector of the economy.
“Mr Emefiele has been directed to immediately hand over the affairs of his office to the Deputy Governor (Operations Directorate), who will act as the Central Bank Governor pending the conclusion of investigation and the reforms.”
