Oby Ezekwesili, the former education minister, tweeted from her verified account and requested that any Nigerian politician who is intending to make false statements about her should do so on ARISE TV while Oseni Rufai, a well-known television presenter, is present to verify their claims.
Ezekwesili’s tweet was made in response to a mild drama that ensued between Rufai and an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Musa Sarkin Adar when the latter appeared on ARISE TV’s ‘Morning Show’ on Wednesday. During the interview, Arda alleged that the reason why the attempt by the Goodluck Jonathan administration to remove fuel subsidies failed, was because people like Oby Ezekwesili had led a mass protest against the move back in 2012.
however, responding to the claim, Rufai quickly fact-checked the APC chieftain by confirming that the former education minister was not among those who led the protest against the removal of the subsidy regime a decade ago because she was the Vice-President of the World Bank at the time.
Reacting to the exchange between both men a few hours later, Ezekwsili lamented the rate of the lies that have been told against her by politicians who don’t want to take responsibility for their actions or that of the government they serve. She then went on to recommend that such persons should please visit ARISE TV for an interview with Rufai Oseni every time they have a lie to tell against her.
