East2West Clinics is an upcoming mHealth platform that aims to improve the accessibility of quality healthcare in East Africa by overcoming geographical barriers through teleconsultations and remote clinical support.
As part of its business development and sustainability plan, East2West Clinics intends to engage the services of a mHealth Consultant (individual/firm) to lead and support country-specific activities for the successful deployment of its telemedicine platform.
2. OBJECTIVE OF THE CONSULTANCY

The specific objective of this Consultancy is to lead and support country-specific activities for the successful deployment of our telemedicine/telehealth platform, including Product Development and Marketing Strategy (PDMS).
3. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The scope of services includes:
The Consultant is required to hold initial consultations with East2West Clinics management and partners as necessary to obtain a full understanding of the proposed telemedicine platform and the scope of this assignment;
Conduct a rapid market scan of relevant stakeholder needs, industry gaps, and factors influencing market growth (opportunities, threats and industry- specific challenges) for East2West Clinics derived products ensuring that they are accurately identified and described;
Prepare an Inception Report with initial findings of the market scan and such services that may be relevant to Eat2West Clinics. The Inception Report must be presented to the management for approval and feedback;
Draft the Product Development and Marketing Strategy (PDMS) for East2West Clinics. The strategy must include:
Ideal Customer Profile. Describe the potential market for East2West Clinics services among private and public sector actors;
Clear Market Strategy;
Clear Revenue Goals;
Communication and Visibility Plan;
Clear Action Plan (with timelines and responsibility);
Implement the approved Marketing Strategy for East2West Clinics. This includes but is not limited to:
Drafting a training manual for the telemedicine platform;
Onboarding medical providers, partners, service providers and users;
Conducting training sessions on the use and back-end monitoring of the mHealth application to staff and service providers;
Developing content for communication tools such as public announcements, brochures, website and online marketing etc;
Leading the piloting of the telemedicine platform in Mogadishu, Somalia;
Monitoring the use of mHealth application during pilot and roll-out phases, troubleshooting problem areas and providing advisory on modifications/adaptability, as necessary, for optimal functioning;
Strengthening the capacity of East2West Clinics around mHealth deployment in East Africa through production of guides and checklists to support staff;
Prepare End of Consultancy Report highlighting the following:
Accomplishments against original action plan;
Successes and lessons learned;
Areas for improvement and reinforcement in order to ensure sustained success;
Guidance for regional (East Africa) scale-up;
4. TYPE OF CONSULTANCY, REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERTISE AND COMPETENCIES
This assignment will be undertaken by a Firm or Individual Consultant. In both cases the individuals or lead consultants must have the following qualifications and experience:
Master’s degree in Public Health, Business Development, Business Administration, Communications or a related field with at least 5-7 years of professional experience and proven track record of implementing mHealth solutions at national or international level;
Specific experience in public health and primary healthcare is a distinct advantage;
Sound knowledge of telemedicine and the East Africa healthcare system is essential;
Demonstrated capacity to operate as part of a cross-functional team and manage relationships with multiple stakeholders;
Experience working with local communities and non‐governmental organizations;
Experience in project management and proven ability to translate complex ideas from various areas into unified, clear guidance;
Excellent writing, editing, attention to detail, presentation and organizational skills;
Fluency in English. Knowledge of Somali or Swahili is a plus.
Remote with occasional travel across East Africa
6. MANAGEMENT ARRANGEMENTS
The Consultant will report to the Executive Director of East2West Clinics or any person delegated to perform such a duty;
All reports produced by the Consultant will be submitted to the Executive Director for approval of satisfactory performance before payment is made to the Consultant;
Other officials of East2West Clinics may collaborate with the Executive Director with regard to the supervisory and coordination role of the Consultant’s work.
7. DURATION OF THE CONSULTANCY
Initially for a period of six (6) months
