One year after the explosive “Surviving R. Kelly” first aired, leading to the singer’s arrest, Lifetime is set to debut a follow-up.

“Surviving R. Kelly Part II: The Reckoning” will premiere Jan. 3 on the network. The two-hour episodes will run across three nights through Jan. 5. According to Billboard, the series will feature interviews from new survivors, supporters, activists, and industry insiders including Damon Dash, Mathew Knowles, and Jimmy Maynes.

The original six-part documentary, which chronicled sexual abuse allegations against Kelly, was watched by over 26 million viewers and sparked a national debate. The show was also nominated for a Primetime Emmy and won a Critics’ Choice Award.

As a result of the #MuteRKelly movement, the 52-year-old singer was dropped from his label RCA Records and his collaborators including Lady Gaga and Celine Dion pulled their collaborations from streaming services. Kelly was eventually arrested and indicted on 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse involving four alleged victims dating back to 1998.

Last week, he was charged with bribing an Illinois government official in order to obtain a fake ID for Aaliyah, a day before he married the 15-year-old singer.

A Cook County, Ill. judge has set a Sept. 14 trial date for Kelly, who remains in federal custody.
