The senator representing Ondo North Senatorial District, Prof. Ajayi Boroffice, has condoled with the people of Owo, Ondo State, over the demise of the Olowo of Owo, Oba Folagbade Olateru-Olagbegi.

Kayode Fakuyi, the Press Secretary to Boroffice, said this in a l statement on Saturday in Akure.

The news of Oba Olateru-Olagbegi’s death filtered in on Tuesday night, but was officially announced on Thursday.

Boroffice, who is the Chairman, Committee on Education and Science in the Senate, in a statement he personally signed on Saturday, described the death of the monarch as a huge loss to humanity.

“On behalf of my family and the people of Ondo North Senatorial District, I commiserate with the Olagbegi Royal family, the Olowo-In-Council and the people of Owo kingdom over the demise of Olowo of Owo, Oba Folagbade Olateru Olagbegi,” he said.

The senator noted that during the monarch’s reign, Owo Kingdom experienced significant development, and his contributions to the growth and stability of his kingdom and beyond were immeasurable.

According to him, the late king was respected, cosmopolitan, an educationalist, a bridge builder and a lover of peace.

He said that the deceased would be sorely missed, praying that God would give everyone the courage to bear the loss.

“May the soul of the departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. May God grant all of us the fortitude to bear this huge loss,” Boroffice said.
