The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has advised disgruntled politicians to emulate Senate President, Bukola Saraki.
The electoral commission made this known while speaking on the controversies surrounding the 2019 election.
INEC who spoke through its National Commissioner, Alhaji Mohammed Haruna, told politicians across Nigeria to emulate Bukola Saraki and his calmness in accepting defeat.
Alhaji Mohammed Haruna said this on Wednesday at the presentation of Certificate of Return to Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazak, Kwara state governor-elect and 24 elected members of the Kwara State House of Assembly.
The National commissioner also commended the people of Kwara state for holding peaceful elections.
He urged the opposition to criticise constructively, appealed to the governor-elect not to see members of the opposition as his enemies. He said;
“emulate the political maturity of the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, who on behalf of all others that lost in the election, said that the winners are not his enemies.”
