Super Eagles Debutante, Paul Onuachu who scored the 2nd fastest goal in international football in less than seven seconds after the kick off of the international friendly at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, has been hailed by Coach Gernot Rohr.
Onuachu’s goal is only second to Lukas Podolski’s strike after six seconds for Germany against Ecuador in 2013.
Super Eagles striker scores 2nd fastest goal in international football
The win was Egypt’s Coach, Javier Aguirre’s first loss since he took over the reins of the Pharaohs.
Meanwhile, Gernot Rohr has hailed the emergence of Paul Onuachu as a different type of striker for the Super Eagles but he also maintained that the Denmark-based star has to improve.
“We now have a different type of striker, a tall one from Denmark,” said Rohr. “He did very well (vs Egypt), but he has to still improve.”
Rohr also said Onuachu’s goal was planned.“We planned to score right from the kick-off,” he revealed.“It was the quickest goal I ever saw as a coach.“It was very nice.”
Onuachu, 24, made his Eagles debut against Seychelles Friday in Asaba as a second-half substitute.
He has been a consistent scorer for top Danish club FC Midtjylland having notched double figures in his last three seasons at the club.
