The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended governor Ibikunle Amosun and Rochas Okorocha.
Despite a resounding victory in the just concluded presidential elections, the NWC further recommended the expulsion of the duo from the party.
This development was announced on Friday afternoon in Abuja after an NWC meeting. Okorocha and Amosun won senatorial seats in last Saturday’s National assembly elections.
The suspension is coming shortly after both governors were accused of ‘Anti-Party’ activities following their support for Gubernatorial candidates from different parties.
Both governors have thrown their weights behind guber aspirations of candidates other than APC’s for the March 9th governorship election. While Amosun is campaigning for Abiodun Akinalde of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), Okorocha is campaigning for his son in-law, Uche Nwosu, of the Action ALliance.
