Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri, will be without his assistant Gianfranco Zola for Thursday night’s Europa League clash with Malmo, after he was admitted to hospital, the UK Mirror reports.
Zola underwent surgery on a gallstone problem before Monday’s FA Cup defeat against Manchester United and was re-admitted to hospital due to complications today.
The 52-year-old has since been released, but will be sidelined as Sarri faces a crucial week with his job on the line.
The Italian has come under significant pressure in recent weeks and is facing a crucial run of fixtures in a bid to save his job.
Sarri could also be without his No.2 for Sunday’s Carabao Cup final against Manchester City at Wembley.
