Popular U.S. singer, Chris Brown, who was arrested in Paris on Monday with two other persons on allegations of rape, has been released from police custody.
The police are still investigating the case, the French prosecutor’s office added.
Recall that Brown alongside his bodyguard and a friend were detained after a 24-year-old woman alleged she was raped at the singer’s suite at the Mandarin Oriental hotel on the night of Jan. 15.
The woman said she met the men at a Paris nightclub earlier in the evening.
Brown, finally reacting, took to his Instagram page, describing the rape allegations as lies.
His post reads: “I wanna make it perfectly clear, this is false and a whole lot of cap. For my daughter and family, this is so disrespectful and is against my character and morals’.
Recall that in 2009, Brown pleaded guilty to the felony assault on Rihanna.
A rape conviction in France can carry a sentence of 15 years.
