Recall that suspected thugs destroyed campaign billboard meant for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential aspirant Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and its governorship candidate, Mallam Ashiru ahead of President Muhammadu Buhari’s arrival in Kaduna, Friday.

In a statement signed on Saturday, Bello blamed agents of the leading political party for the billboard destruction.

“It has come to our notice that the billboards and other mementos of our presidential candidate, His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and that of our governorship candidate, Hon. Isa Ashiru, mounted at strategic points in Kaduna metropolis and other local governments have either been vandalised, destroyed or completely removed by suspected agents of a leading political party in the state.

“We are not unaware of the fact that after our last gubernatorial campaign rally at the Trade Fair Complex in Kaduna, that some parties seeing the sea of heads that turned up has become jittery and desperate to save themselves from the glaring rejection by the people of the state.

“The resort to violence as shown by the pulling down of our billboards to give the false impression that there’s no opposition party in Kaduna State is one of ways the APC is trying to get over this shock but this is highly condemnable.

“We call on the security agencies to act quickly to save the state from brigandage and lawlessness.

“We call on our teeming supporters to keep the faith and not to lose hope as the journey to rescue the state from tyranny, oppression will soon be over,” he added.
