A 45-year-old man, identified as Julius Ochim, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly impregnating his daughter, who later had a baby girl for him.
Police investigations showed that the suspect started having sex with his daughter in 2009 shortly after the death of his wife, the mother of the girl.
Julius was picked up by the police after his daughter whom he had been having sex with for over 8 years, reported him to the Sagamu police station. She got pregnant three years ago and had a baby girl for her father.
Oyeyemi, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said along the line, the victim also told the police that she got pregnant for her father and gave birth to a baby girl who is now three years old.
He said:
“She further revealed that her father used to threaten her with a cultural implication of refusing to sleep with him.”
Confirming the arrest, Oyeyemi, said the suspect ”confessed to have been sleeping with the girl since the demise of his wife, adding that he had problem with the girl when she started going out with another man, whom she said she wanted to get married to.”
Oyeyemi added that the matter has been transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal investigation and Intelligence Department, Abeokuta.
