Following the successful completion of the 3 days hand washing sensitization campaign in public schools in Abia state, Queen Chikezie Ijeoma, the founder of Help Keep Clean Foundation has commenced a media tour to several TV and Radio stations in the capital city.
The vibrant young lady was a guest in two channels at TSTV cable network and Peoples Television yesterday, where she spoke extensively on the success and impact of the hand washing campaign recently concluded in Abia state. The exercise which involved over 10 public schools and about 7000 pupils, saw the NGO distribute illutrated hand washing story book and cleaning materials.
Speaking at the interview session, Ijeoma said that her team will be building up on the hand washing project by sinking boreholes in rural communities. ” I am truly happy with the success of the project in my state, I hope to extend the exercise to other states but for now, we are targeting to start sinking boreholes in rural communites”
“Accessibility of Water supply is one of the major challenges of sustaining the hand washing campaign in most communities, and we have resolved to take up the responsibility of embarking on making water available which is not only important but essentially ingrediential for healthy living” she concluded.
The ex- Beauty queen further called on Government and well meaning Nigerians to embrace this exercise to ensure rural communities are provided with water supply. She also stressed on the need organisations and individuals to support in whatever capacity to make this dream see the light of the day for most rural communities.
