A teenager has been arrested for allegedly suffocating her baby to death and dumping the body in a dustbin.
The Sokoto state police command arrested 19-year-old Munirat Bagana, an indigene of Zuru Local Government Area of Kebbi State, for allegedly suffocating her newborn baby boy and dumping his corpse in the dustbin on Monday June 4th.
The spokesperson of the state police command, ASP Cordelia Nwawe, who paraded her before newsmen, said Munirat who is a student of Sokoto State School of Health Technology, Gwadabawa, was arrested on Monday after her fellow students caught her dumping her dead baby.
When interviewed by newsmen, Munirat said she had a still birth and the dead baby was a premature.
The police revealed that after investigations is concluded, she would be charged to court.
