Zimbabwe: Former Vice President to be Sworn in as President Today

As Robert Mugabe resigned, his vice is set to be sworn in as the new President of Zimbabwe. Emmerson Mnangagwa, 75 years old was sacked by Robert Mugabe, will now become the new president.

 

The new President will over see a democratic election in the country in 2018. Mnangagwa, said to be popular amongst the powerful War Veterans group and the Zimbabwean military chiefs was sacked by Mugabe 13 days after he accused him of disloyalty and insubordination, a move reportedly made to pave way for his wife.
