The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has declared a nationwide strike beginning from today.
NUPENG The umbralla body of Oil Sector Worers, said the strike is in protest over staff pay packages and job lossess in the sector over the last few months
The strike is expected to affect the flow of petrol to filling stations, has shut down seven crude flow stations in the Niger Delta and is expected to last for three days and involve around 10,000 workers.
The Labour ministry spokesman was not immediately available to comment.
