Youths on the platform of Southern Kaduna Peoples Union on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 marched to the National Assembly to protest the killing of over 4,000 people by suspected Fulani herdsmen.

Nasiru Jagaba, leader of the group expressed displeasure over the attitude of the state governor, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai towards the issue. Holding placards with various inscriptions, the group said apart from the killings, their farmlands, businesses, schools and places of worship have been destroyed by the herdsmen.

“Thereafter, the governor has kept mum. The security forces claim that they have not been given orders to stop the Fulani herdsmen. The situation is getting worse as the herdsmen are harvesting the crops the crops of the community that they have driven off their lands.

“During a recent briefing, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai vowed to bring the perpetrators of the genocide against our people to book,” he said.

“They are looting churches, houses in the community and loading them into trucks and driving them away without any hindrance from the security forces,” he added.

The group called on the federal government to order the arrest of all Fulani herdsmen and armed bandit in the state.
