Sergeant Patrick Chewe have been arrested by police in Lusaka for allegedly shooting his wife Lines Tembo to death during a heated argument.
Mr. Hamoonga said the suspect is in Police custody and the firearm was recovered while the body of the deceased is lying in the University Teaching Hospital Mortuary.
Mr Hamoonga said the cause of the shooting has not yet been established but investigations are underway. Confirming the incident, Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said Sergeant Patrick Chewe of Army Apollo Camp Lusaka West used AK 47 rife to shoot his 39-year-old wife. He added that Sergeant Chewe, 41, shot his wife in the chest and on the left lower ribs using AK 47.
