A statement by the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman, said of the number, 28, comprising two men, nine women and 17 children, claimed they escaped from Bula Musa village. Troops on clearance operations in the Northeast have rescued 88 people in Bama Local Government of Borno State. Three insurgents were killed in the encounter.
“They have been taken to Bama for screening, profiling and possible handover to emergency management and humanitarian agencies,” Usman said.
