Federal Prison Attacked by Gunmen Killing Two In Portharcourt

Gunmen suspected to be militants have launched a failed attack on the Federal Prisons in Port Harcourt, the state capital. A group of gunmen have unleashed havoc on a Federal Prisons and on a Judiciary complex, causing irreparable damage.

According to REPORTERS, though reasons for the coordinated attacks are still sketchy, unconfirmed information has it that the attacks are not unconnected to the proposed arraignment of three suspects standing trial over the alleged killing of a Niger-Delta warlord, Soboma George.

Also, in correlation to the attack on the Prison, two people have also been killed by the same group of suspected militants in the Rivers state Judiciary complex, Port Harcourt.

Soboma George was killed 6 years ago by gunmen at number six field in Town, Port Harcourt. According to Daily Post, one of the security operatives was strangled to death while the other died by the bullets. Another security operative was brutally wounded with matchete. The incident was said to have happened around 3 am on Tuesday.
