Search And Rescue Mission By Military Joint Force Saved Soldiers Abducted In Niger Delta

In a new operation codenamed Operation Pulo Shield, staged by Military Joint Force in the Niger Delta yesterday, said troops on a search and rescue operation safely rescued a kidnapped soldier in the creek of Otakeme community in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

“Troops of Sector 2 Operation Pulo Shield during a search and rescue operation in the creek around Otakeme Community in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State rescued a soldier who was kidnapped by suspected sea pirates in Nembe creek on 24 March 2016.

The Coordinator, Joint Media Campaign Centre, Operation Pulo Shield, Isa Ado, who confirmed the development in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, said the unnamed soldier was abducted by suspected sea pirates in the creek of Nembe last month.

“The Soldier was taken to a medical facility for treatment while effort is ongoing to apprehend the fleeing criminals”.

According to him, the medical worker specialized in the treatment of militants and sea pirates, who sustain gun injuries during shootout with security operatives in the region.

Meanwhile, Mr. Ado, a colonel, announced the arrest of a medical worker by troops deployed in Nembe Local Government Area.
