A 2-year-old Nigerian boy was dumped to die by his family in Uyo,Akwa Ibom State,, according to them the child was a witch, fate now smile on him .
Anja Ringgren Loven, a Danish woman caught up with him as he was emaciated with worms all over and rescued him last January 31. He was scavenging for food.
Loven, founder African Children’s Aid Education and Development Foundation, renamed him Hope and took him to the hospital for treatment.
He was de-wormed and had daily blood transfusions to incorporate more red blood cells into his body.
Loven said Hope has hypospadias, a genital birth defect meaning the urethra emerges somewhere on the shaft or even the base of the penis, instead of at the tip.
And with that began his journey to an amazing recovery. Once a picture of the then starving toddler hit the internet,it broke hearts around the world and provoked a massive donation of cash for his treatment.
He is due to have a surgery next week to correct the defect. Loven has shared a series of photographs showing Hope’s miraculous recovery.
