At the convocation ceremony of the Imo State University (IMSU), Owerri, Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has opined that political leaders are the worst threats to Nigeria’s unity because “they spike the embers of hatred, ethnic and religious intolerance”. He warned them desist from actions and utterances capable of undermining the country’s unity.

The greatest threats to the country’s unity are the political leaders who talk and act in manners that pose serious threat to the country’s oneness.[/quote_box_center]

Niger State Governor Alhaji Abubakar Sanni Bello was awarded a Doctor of Business Administration Degree (Honoris Causa) at the convocation.

“His coming here today is a dramatisation of the unity of the country. I think we can build the Nigeria of our collective dreams and aspiration. It is the high premium the government and the authorities of the Imo state University place on unity that made the institution decide to honour the Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sanni Bello.”
