Manchester Evening News report that Manchester United and Manchester City will meet in a pre-season friendly in China. Their chief executives, Ed Woodward for United and Ferran Soriano for city, met in London earlier this week.
This took place alongside Chelsea chief Bruce Buck, Arsenal’s Ivan Gazidis and Liverpool chief Ian Ayre.
United also remain supportive of the current football landscape, to the extent they believe FA Cup replays should not be scrapped, amid claims they were receptive to a change in domestic and European formats.
Initial reports claimed the quintet met to discuss a breakaway European Super League competition, however, the M.E.N. have revealed the meeting was in fact to discuss the International Champions Cup (ICC) pre-season tournament.
