Poor Maintenance Culture Have Destroyed Most Fuel Depots

In an effort by the Federal Government to enhance efficient distribution of petroleum product, petroleum depots which was set up to take fuel from the 445,000 barrels per day capacity refineries with more than 5,120 kilometres of pipeline network, 21 depots and a couple of booster pump stations and jetties, has been brought to nothing due vandalism and poor maintenance.

Due to misuse most storage facilities have turn to waste bin which lead to the use of trucks for moving petroleum product to other states.
