According to an eyewitnesses the four-man robbery gang had allegedly blocked a motorist at Obosi by-pass along the Onitsha-Owerri dual carriageway and dispossessed him of all he has. One of them went out of luck and was knocked down by their victim after the attack.

The lifeless body of the robbery suspect was in front of the police station for about an hour before it was evacuated to a nearby mortuary.
