In a press release from Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission NERC disclosed that the new electricity tariff (MYTO 2015) takes off by 1st February 2015.
Also stated that the commission did not change date for the take off of the new tariff
NERC said it has urged distribution companies to apply all directive not to connect new customers without first providing them with meters.

From acting Head of the commission Dr. Anthony Akah, said the removal of fixed charge under the new tariff regime “was in response to major electricity consumers’ reports and a measure to ensure electricity distribution companies improve on service delivery as their income is dependent on the quantity of electricity used by their customers.”
