Abiola Ajimobi as the Governor of Oyo State has been upheld by the Election Tribunal for the Governorship Election which took place on April 11, 2015.

The sitting which took place in Ibadan, the state capital, reached the decision on Tuesday, October 27, 2015.

The panel also threw out the petition filed by Senator Rashidi Ladoja of the Accord Party saying that all the evidence he presented before the court was unreliable. The three-man panel, was led by Justice Muhammed Aliu Mayaki.

The tribunal also held that Ladoja had failed to prove that the election was rigged.

Ajimobi contested the polls on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and became the first governor of the state to win a second term in office.
