Report says that the Kano State Government has declared today, Wednesday, October 14 as public holiday to mark the new Islamic year.
According to Alhaji Baba Dantiye, the Director-General, Media and Communications to Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje the governor had reassured the people of the state government’s determination to work hard toward improving their living standards and pledged to continue to give priority attention to both formal and non formal education in the state.
Wednesday, October 14, is the first day of Muharram, the first month in the Islamic calendar and marks the new Islamic year 1437 after hijra.
