RASHIDI YEKINI’S ESTATE IS NOW A SECURITY THREAT

The estate of late soccer legend, Rashidi Yekini has been turned to a grassing land ravaged by weeds which has propelled serious apprehension for residents of Oni and Sons are of the area where the house is situated.

The untimely death of the Yekini on 4th May 2012 has rendered his edifice useless.

The residents in a letter written to the Oluyole Divisional Police Station covering the area described the expansive mansion of the soccer legend as a security threat while expressing fear of the place becoming a hideout for hoodlums.

According to the letter in part, “We are worried over the over the desertion of this big house since we lost Rashidi Yekini Baba more than three years ago now. This house might soon become a hideout for marauders which is a big threat to our safety.”

Counsel to the late Goal-king, Barrister Jubril Mohammed who is perceived to be in-charge of all Yekini left behind said various measure were being put in place to restore the estate.

“And very soon the place would be put to good use but pending that time he had contracted people that would clear all the weeds that have taken over the Yekini’s Ring-Road house, so that it doesn’t become a hideout and security threat to the residents of the area.”

The legal practitioner also revealed that the decease left behind two daughters, noting that when all document are ready, the duo would because direct beneficiaries of wealth and properties his client left.
