At least five persons have been killed in a gas explosion that occurred at a gas plant in Eliozu area of Port Harcourt.
The Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmad Muhammad, who confirmed the explosion to Vanguard on phone, said the Police was already at the scene of the incident to collate information.
According to him, they were refilling gas when suddenly the cylinder exploded.
”I am sure the number will be more than five because I saw some bodies on the ground when the explosion occurred. I was told it was a gas explosion. I hope this is true”, he said.
