SIERRA Leone captain Kei Kamara is in upbeat mood ahead of today’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire.
The Elephants are heavy favourites to beat the Leone Stars who are technically the hosts in the fixture which holds at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt in Nigeria.
Camara, who is in the books of Major League Soccer (MLS) club Columbus Crew, believes the reigning AFCON kings can be shocked in Port Harcourt.
“We respect the Ivorians but we do not fear them. I still recall the two games we played against them during the 2015 AFCON qualifiers vividly.
“Those were matches we should have won, especially the first one in Abidjan, because we played better.
“We lost largely due to lack of experience but I am sure things will be different this time.
