PDP Media Watchdog attacks President over recent appointments

The PDP Media Watchdog has attacked President Muhammadu Buhari over his recent appointments.

The group described the appointments as ‘fraudulent and asymmetrical’ and said further that Buhari’s anti-corruption war is deceitful.

This was contained in a statement released by spokesperson,Tunde Lawal. It reads:

“The President claimed to be fighting corruption but does not know that even lopsided appointment is also corruption. According to an English dictionary, corruption is defined as ‘dishonest actions that destroys people’s trust in the person or group’ and in another definition, it says, ‘corruption is the misuse of entrusted power (by heritage, education, marriage, election, appointment or whatever else) for private gain’”

“So, we wish to advise President Buhari to review his appointments to meet federal character otherwise all his efforts at fighting corruption will amount to witch-hunting” the group said. To support their positions, the group went further to list out the positions, names of individuals appointed into such post and the region where these persons hail from.”

“Out of 36 known appointments so far, Mr. President and his party, the All Progressive Congress (APC) allocated 11 positions to the South and gave 25 to the North which is a clear departure from the CHANGE mantra the APC promoted before and during the elections.”

Meanwhile, Presidential media aide, Femi Adesina has said that Buhari would soon balance his appointments.
