The accused may be sentenced to life imprisonment on conviction. The Chief Magistrate, Miss B.O. Ope-Agbe, adjourned the case to Feb. 1, 2016.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Cpl. Iyobosa Onaiwu, told the court that the offence was committed on Dec. 1 at about 9.50 p.m. at their apartment. Onaiwu said Nwabunike Ezeike’s death was caused by the blows he received on his head from Okeke following an argument over payment of electricity bills.
